About

In 1993 I began with a film camera and some chemistry and now it is my career.

On Assignment - By the numbers:

  • 4 - Pictures on Page 1 of The New York Times
  • 20 minutes / 16 hours - shortest & longest single day assignments
  • 90 - Assignments total between the AP & New York Times
  • 700+ - Pictures published from assignments in the St.Louis Post-Dispatch ('97-'99)
  • 50 - Projects for Web Design Firms
  • 14 - Work cameras owned between 1993 and 2018
  • 13 - States / Provinces traveled to on assignment
  • 2 - Staff Photographer positions with publications
  • 1 - Times feeling effects of tear gas on assignment
  • 200 - Portraits made for my largest project
  • 22 assignments in 6 days - Busiest week, as a volunteer photographer for the True/False Film Festival
  • 128 MB - 32 GB - Smallest and largest memory cards used
  • $100 - $15,000 - Least to most expensive cameras on assignment
  • 2 - Nights sleeping in a shelter covering flood of 2008.
  • 20 - TBs in raw image archive

That was then.

Today I find myself as a food photographer, an architectural photographer, an on the road portrait photographer and a small video producer.

I enjoy telling stories and getting inside a subject. The camera does play a role but one needs a vision first.
